LOVE

February 14, 2021 by Adrienne E. Giordano

So lets talk about love, because I love LOVE! Don’t you? I know – how could you not?

Since it is Valentine’s Day, I feel compelled to call out the joy that is love. (Not to mention, all these ridiculously precious Daisy AND Heart pictures? I’m swooning and just had to post them!)

What do I think love is? I’m so glad you asked!

Love is a marvelous, amazing, magnificent and awesome thing! (Shout out to any Mama’s reading this – I didn’t do that on purpose but as soon as I started to type ‘awe’, I saw the m-a-m-a!) On the heels of a prior post on the choices we make [if you like, you can read that here: Choices] love is indeed a choice! Love is a verb first before it becomes a noun. Love is felt like NO OTHER feeling in the world. It lifts, builds and shores up the most battered and weary soul. Love curls the toes of the most stern, strong men and women I know. It enhances and delights.

Love is a most cherished gift shared in families, among circles of friends, tribes and communities. Love is sacredly exchanged between lovers. And based on my experiences in this lifetime, love can be scary as hell! Love can bear your soul wide open and leave you vulnerable unlike any other exchange. And it must be said, love is God and God is love – but that is a topic far too lofty for this meager offering!

I could go on, endlessly, (and yes, I sometimes do!) because there is no way to fully address, explain, dissect and expound on the phenomenal gift that love is, so I wont try. But I do want to leave you with an instruction, and maybe for some of you, a challenge!

Love is hard, and its expensive – but do it anyway. Love pays dividends that cannot be compared to anything else you will experience in this lifetime.

And when you get to the part of love that hurts, (I’m fairly certainly we all have to confront that pain at some point) feel it, if you can learn from it then do so, and then love again! I know, I know – but be brave; because I have it on good authority (I read ahead to the back of the book!), in the end, LOVE WINS.

Wishing you abundant love today and always! xo
